Terminology
Application Screen - The screen with your entire list of applications and application folders.
Battery Pull - The act of removing the battery and restarting the phone or using an application such as Quick Pull to do it for you.
Home Screen - The screen that includes many of the extra features that make a theme unique such as Hidden Today.
Hidden Dock - A Home Screen feature that allows you to tap the screen to hide your dock(s) and tap it again to bring it back into view.
Hidden Today - A Home Screen feature that displays the following information when you hover over their respective icons:
- Calendar icon -> Next 10 Events
- Any Message (SMS/Email) icon -> Last 10 Unread Messages
Weather Edition - A Home Screen feature with an extra icon in the upper left corner of the home screen for any icon of your choosing. (Named accordingly because this extra icon is usually used for a weather application.)
Weather 2 Edition - A Home Screen feature with 2 extra icons in the upper left and right corners of the Home Screen for any icons of your choosing. (Named accordingly because these extra icons are usually used for weather applications.)
Zen - A simple Home Screen with nothing but icons.
Trouble Shooting
Lag
- Always do a Battery Pull when installing a new theme.
- Delete some other themes. Keep only 1-3 on your phone for optimum performance.
- All my themes are optimized for the best performance on your phone. Most likely it is not the theme.
Can't find SMS icon
- Go into Messages then press the BlackBerry button then make sure your SMS and Email lists are separate.
Can't fine 3rd Party Apps
- Check in Downloads Folder
Can't add a new folder
- Press "ADD" in landscape view (This is caused by a weird issue with the Plazmic Theme Builder)
The Hidden Today isn't showing up when I hover over Calender/SMS/Messages icons
- Go into Options>Advanced>Default Service
- Make sure it is set to the email address you use for your calendar entries.
Why are there boxes around the icons on the home page but not on the application screen?
- Go to your application screen and press the following series of buttons:
- BlackBerry Button>Options>Set Home Screen Layout to 2 Rows
